Winning is about conclusions and moving to a fresh game. Far too often one finds themselves caught up in the humdrum routine of life, increasingly tired and bored. Regardless of the reaction, the humdrum, tiredness, and boredom are leading indicators that one has lost the will and intent of winning. We try to change and in the process change little. We think the problem is with the world around us while missing out on the painting underway in our lives. Perhaps the secret lies in discovering what it means to create and to be recreated.
In my walk I find that I have emerged from a long period of frustration and anger. It seems that nobody wanted to really see what was happening around us. In their blindness the darkness was my fault instead of ours. As time went on the blindness became normal, accepted, and almost natural. In this state individuals walked, acted, and made choices thinking that this was the way of life had to be. I was frustrated at my blindness and others. I was angry at the injustice of it all. I was no longer winning but whining.
Some are still in the conundrum. The only difference for me was simply a friend who came along and reintroduced me to winning, creating, and recreation. I don’t think he had any idea that he was doing this but for this I will forever be in debt. What a wonderful gift!
Are you in darkness? It will not last. Is life’s reality frustrating? It will not always be. God is about winning, creating, and recreation. Life is the same. So “don't act so surprised at all this. The time is coming when everyone dead and buried will hear his [God’s] voice. Those who have lived the right way will walk out into a resurrection Life; those who have lived the wrong way, into a resurrection Judgment.” (John 5.28, 29)
I didn’t realize when I turned the corner. You can be a lot smarter than I was! Everything begins when you realize you’ve already won.
