Applying the rules to another is far easier than being willing to apply the rules personally. Judgment and evaluation are usually third person. You did not see the obvious. You failed to deliver on your commitment. You are an idiot. You are responsible for the failure and disaster all around us. It is not I, you!
Is this really the truth of my reality? Given my behavior, I must answer with a resounding “yes”! Frequently I expressed the resounding accusation of “Simpletons! How long will you wallow in ignorance?” (Proverbs 1.22)
Yet, after a great twelve hours of sleep, I see the world a little differently. Perhaps this reflection is what we need to carry with us. Even if you have made a mistake, as every one of us will at times, the question is what are we going to do to help each other take a positive step along on our journeys. Are we willing to step out with each other and look towards the future? Can we take the courageous step of compassionate understanding of each other? Will we let things that normally prick our ego go and look to our true source of worth? Are we going to perpetuate the mantra of survival of the fittest?
Cycles are hard to break. You and I know through the world around us from a young age that only the strongest, smartest, and sneaky survive. We understood that beauty mattered more than substance. We saw the affirmation that comes when the achievement comes through any means. The world's teachings will fail us. There is nothing we can gain this way for our true journeys.
You are I will never be adversaries. Even those who hurt me the most are people who share the same path. We long for the Divine. We search and fight for what is already ours. My advice is to reach out for God and he will hold you. Listen and He will speak. The process is difficult because of what we think is the way. Thanks for sharing the journey.
