I was walking at speed. As I passed, the candles and flower arrangement on the table caught my eye. I could hear a clear call to stop, to take notice and remember. As a new day dawns, I hear the scene sharing a message with me: “Whatever was, is. Whatever will be, is. That’s how it always is with God.” (Ecclesiastes 3.15)
Awareness comes with an openness to hear, especially when one is willing to look at the past with fresh eyes and heart. Individuals were passing the table on the left and the right. The opportunity to let the experience sink in was there for all. I hope the designer’s gift touched others to create new awareness and insights. Every moment is an opportunity for us to experience life’s gifts of discovery, wonder, and affirmation.
Each moment reflects freedom, hope, and living. One is free to contribute through her/his presence, words, and actions. Once written, the moment is available for study, learning, and growth. This moment is our opportunity to express our priorities, values, and hope. The moment to come will build on what has been and is. It will be written in collaboration with Divinity and others. Everything as it was, is, and will be.
With the reflections created by the candles and design, I rediscovered my calls to action. The moment etched itself on my heart and mind, challenging me to see the past for what it is and the present for the opportunities it presents. I have more freedom than I realise and appreciate. I can do more than I believe I can. In the darkness and light of the candles, I became aware of the courage and resilience that were always within me. I could see harmony quietly in the corner of my heart, waiting to be embraced.
I am the author of my life’s images. Divinity and others contribute. I determine the framing, exposure, and speed of the image left in my heart and mind. Each snap is a potential story of myself and others with kindness, care, and compassion.
