Things are about to happen all around me. My team at work is poised to turn a big corner, we are scheduling trips to jump our game forward during the next few weeks, schedules are tight, people are planning vacations, and our rendezvous with destiny is just ahead of us. I think I can see it, touch and feel it, and almost taste it! Things are moving and about to happen in big ways!
In three weeks the classic car that is a member of the family will be on display at the annual Brooklands Raceway historical car show. More immediately Carli celebrates a birthday this weekend. Today I have nine major deliverables due. Anticipation of what will and can occur permeates every fiber of my body.
I worry about two friends making arrangements for an elderly parent. I come back to talk with God about a special friend I left in His care who is now facing the fresh challenges of three children and getting reacquainted with her husband. I think of a good friend who is always there for me while facing challenges that would cripple me. In these situations and for others, I fear for the future, rest in God’s Presence, and remember my role.
I wonder about the Yankees and their progress towards the pennant in October.
Throughout the day and night I can sense God stirring. God is releasing his Presence into ours lives. God commits unlimited amounts of grace, mercy, and love for our needs, wants, and potential. We walk through life anticipating, something.
“All around us we observe a pregnant creation. The difficult times of pain throughout the world are simply birth pangs. But it’s not only around us; it’s within us. The Spirit of God is arousing us within.” (Romans 8.22,23)
God is looking to do the stuff in your life and mine. God loves you and I with an intensity we find hard to imagine, which accounts for our soul thirst when we are out of connection.
What I anticipate can be our reality, today with God.
