I am in a conundrum. How do I tell someone about the path that they are on without sounding judgmental? Is there a way to explain the unexplainable? Can I share what one must experience to understand? Is there any way out of this wicked problem with no immediate answer?
The challenge comes when even the people who should understand, do not. The debate quickens when those who cheat, lie, and play games seem to win on all counts. The pain involved in both has the same answer, but it seems so intangible and illusive. I believe; however, giving you words alone is clearly not the answer.
First, let me be perfectly clear on my belief about who wins and really wins.
“What the wicked construct finally falls into ruin, while the roots of the righteous give life, and more life.” (Proverbs 12.12)
Wicked is defined by anyone who builds for self, motivated by idealistic thoughts that they are god or can climb higher on the backs of those around them. Righteous are those who give unselfishly for the benefit of others, who serve with a smile, who pick up something with it falls, opens a door for a stranger, and looks for opportunities to share mercy, love, or compassion. Righteous also includes those who look for the best in others, who struggle on in spite of the obstacles and challenges, and take the time to realize the important things in life. Important things include taking time for a meal with a friend, nurturing a flower when there is little to sustain the fragile plant, and meeting each work commitment ever made.
Second, the challenge occurs when waves of pain hit, they hit the wicked and the righteous. The answer for both is the same, but often seems illusive. For all, in all, the answer is God. God, who is at war with Evil, loves each with mercy, compassion, and intensity beyond comprehension. God’s way is the way of the righteous and Evil sets the pattern for the wicked. Love versus Self.
God, answer to all.
