I have a growing belief in a simple premise. Truth, real, honest, no question about it truth, has a momentum all its own. There is little need to convince others, if they are open then the impact alone carries tremendous power. On the other hand if one is selling something that is not true, or mix of confusion and truth, then proportional to the level of truth is the amount of spin required to convince others of the validity of its proposal(s). With the latter, one can convince others it is just harder.
This belief rests on others being open to the truth. The examples of preset agendas flood our senses every day. Politicians, people in corporate life out to gather or steal as much money as they can, and even specialists such as consultants or doctors. Each in their own right has something to give, and expertise that most of us don’t have, but are they open to the truth? If not then their words, actions, and motives are driven by spin, manipulation, and often heartfelt but misguided belief. Ironically I find that our bodies and souls remind us of their intent but I find myself ignoring these signals as easily and quickly as the next person.
There is an alternative. Start with your self. Open your heart and mind to an ongoing, unending quest to know and understand the “truth” of our lives and journeys. If my feeble attempts I find the process is not always easy and can be stressful yet the rewards are incredible! This is an opportunity to connect with Divinity and to walk hand in hand with the Spirit. Let the truth of your quest be available to others.
John’s words of old are as powerful today as they were then. “That's exactly what I saw happen, and I'm telling you, there's no question about it: This is the Son of God.” (John 1.34)
Just imagine – the clich? can come true in your life. The opportunity is real, the invitation is present. The truth will set you free!
