Yesterday a new friend had a “word” from God for me. He had sensed the subject for a week, had prayed on my behalf, and now wanted to pray with me now. The word was one of fact and encouragement; it carried an offer from him to do something even more and it was a great booster shot. God cares about the details and this insight was clearly one of the details of my life!
You and I share a journey. We are physically miles apart and struggle with apparently very different issues in different circles. I do suggest, and believe, that we share the same struggle within common core problems; a melody that plays itself out in different keys and arrangements. At times there is someone who understands and shares a brief space in our steps, but most of the time is spent walking alone – struggling to sense and believe that God is with us even and mostly at that time. The obstacles seem overwhelming, and at time do, yet we cling to our belief that God loves us without reservation.
We share a view of our own walk as well as a similar view of those who do not understand. “Anyone, of course, who has not welcomed this invisible but clearly present God, the Spirit of Christ, won’t know what we’re talking about. But for you who welcome him, in whom he dwells – even though you still experience all the limitations of sin – you yourself experience life on God’s terms.” (Romans 8.9)
I found myself encouraged and energized yesterday as a prayer of blessing, dedication, and encouragement was offered on my behalf. I found myself reflecting on the fact that I have a “word” for you each morning. I know God shows up and talks, regardless of my mood, temperament, or state of being; although I am sure I confuse the message at times!
You have a God who loves you unconditionally and a friend offering a constant prayer of blessing and dedication for and to you. Two friends, wanting you to really win!
