Power lines run through my life. Often in the form of friends, the power that drives my life goes beyond the who to include their perspectives, insights, and shared experiences. Their impact is more than a momentary series of events. They restore, recreate, and energise me. Metaphorically, each is a power line to me, with transformers through our interactions, experiences, and conversations.
The lesson reminder for me lies not in their strength. The question of the moment is, what will I do with what I know and hold within my heart and soul? The question is never about the future; it is always about the now.
Every person in life has a story to share. I want to hear each story! I want to feel between the lines. I hope to listen to the truth being revealed. I want my heart to hear and my soul to understand. Each story is a potential echo of the giants of old; “Through acts of faith, they toppled kingdoms, made justice work, took the promises for themselves.” (Hebrews 11.33) Every story is a pearl waiting to be found, opened, and embraced.
One is never alone; we are part of a larger family and community. Our story is not solely our own. We are players in an unfolding tale that encompasses Divinity, remarkable giants, and, for a time, darkness. One does not stand by oneself. Instead, one’s existence is defined by the Divine gift of life and purpose. We are God-created creatures that live with an enduring longing to be in relationships with each other and our Divine parent. The pain, tragedy, and warfare that come with life may separate us from one another. In our togetherness and when one feels alone, I have faith in the powerlines that sustain my life. We are connected, one to each other and with Divinity.
One has the power to change the lives of others. With our gifts, we can give. In being loved, we can care, be kind, and share love. We are transformers in the lives of the individuals around us.
